The kids were in the yard enjoying the sunshine and I hear Michael saying, "Snake! Snake, mama!" I expected to find a stick or something, but after Michael lead me to the alleged "snake" I was surprised to see a REAL snake in the grass! Ok. Everyone stand back till I can look up what kind it is! But instead I called Eli, our trusty hunter, to the rescue. He just proded it with his nose and we all watched it slither away under the fence. Come to find out, it was just a baby gartner, but you never can be too sure! 30 seconds later we spotted a frog (our second so far this year - they come in droves in mid to late summer from the creek in the green belt behind our house) and that sweet green, jumping guy helped the kids get over the snake lose.

Fun!! I am afraid if we found a snake in our backyard it would not be so pleasant! That's because it probably would be a rattle snake...yep they have those around here!! I love that picture of Elizabeth by the way...she is a doll! She looks so grown up too! It goes by so fast!
If I found a snake out back I would pick up the kids in a football hold and book it to the house! You're a brave soul!
