Granite Falls

I always thought it was odd that the town of Granite Falls was named thus because there was no falls in sight! But lo & behold - here it is!


This is a walking path next to the river & falls that is also a fish ladder.

It's difficult from the pic to appreciate how intimidating it was walking over the fish ladder. Flowing river right below us. Lizzie would throw a fit everytime we put her down cuz she was so terrified.

Michael was sure this little nook was a bear cave. It took some serious convincing for him to go in with Dad. This great family walk proved to be a wonderful Sabbath activity for us. Definitely recommend it to one & all!

Happy 4th Bday Lizzie

When I asked Lizzie what kind of cake she wanted she promptly replied, "I wanna pink strawberry cake with flowers, butterflies & strawberries on top". So that's what she got!


Rylee asked to be put on speaker phone from South Dakota so she could sing to Lizzie too. It was very sweet & Lizzie loved hearing her big sissy sing to her.

Just before this shot Lizzie asked her daddy if he wanted to wear her new pretty princess dress. Hahaha!

Here she is in her new dress doing what Lizzie does best - dancing! She's such a sweetie pea & I'm so glad she came to our family.

His First Tooth

We were just getting buckled in the van to leave the Walmart parking lot & Michael started screaming. I looked back & asked what was wrong & saw blood on his lip. I went to the back seat & he yelled, "My tooth!" and I saw it dangling. Ewww. I realized then that I had not talked to Michael about him loosing his teeth to make room for his big boy teeth. I thought he was still too young for that discussion! Once I had though he calmed down & was very excited. He also really liked the idea of a tooth fairy giving him $$$ for this little treasure. I love seeing a little gap in his smile. Reminds me how far he's come & what a big lil' man he really has become.

A Friend to All

This poor bee got stuck in the netting of the tramp & I felt so bad for him, I had to save him! It was tricky, but I got to his front end & gave him a little nudge wearing an oven mit :) That got his front legs lose & he wiggled out & flew away. I felt like Wonder Woman ;)

We're Back!

After 10 months w/o a camera, I finally broke down & bought one! I missed posting some of our crazy summer adventures, but don't worry all you die-hard Crosby family fans! We're back! Ah...feels good. So this is a classic kids on the tramp pic. More to come later...

An Update

Michael will be starting Kindergarten in a couple weeks & he couldn't be more excited! He'll be taking the bus to & from which just adds to his joy! I'm so anxious for my lil' guy to experience learning & fun at school. I have my LONG list of concerns too, but like our Father above knew, I too know he has to experience these things for himself.

Lizzie will be starting her first year of pre-school. This year I'm trying something new: a co-op preschool with 3 other moms. I'm super pumped! It will be the perfect start for Lizzie's school career. More one on one, which she really needs. She's got more sass than anything and that will make for some interesting school sessions I'm sure :)

Alaina will be 2 next week!!! My baby is no longer a baby! She's the coolest kid. Her lil' personality keeps us all laughing. Like, she doesn't just say no, she says "No way!" She's got a phrase or face or gesture for every occasion. Love that girl.
