Alaina Darla

She's here!!!! Our sweet Alaina Darla was born Sept. 3, 2008 @ 12:30 pm weighing 8 lbs even (I can't believe I had an 8 lber!!!) & 20 1/4 inches long. She is so precious... Let me tell you a little more about her & then I'll tell you the fun birth story :) So - she has really dark, thick hair. I don't know if you can tell in the first pic, but the nurses giving her a bath spiked it when they were done. I can already put beretts (sp?) in her hair! And of course she has the Crosby cow-lick. The only issue she's having is that she has a high pallet so she's having trouble latching on. We're working on it though :)

Ok - so the birth story. I had an appt yesterday, the 3rd & my Dr checked me at 9am. 100% effaced (finally) & 4 cnt. Great! He scheduled me to be induced the next day (today) since I was ready & he was going to be the on-call Dr that day. So I go home & I'm home about 5 minutes when the contractions come - strong & about 1 minuted apart. Thankfully my lil' sister came over the night before to help out when the time did come, & my friend Megan was ready to roll to watch the kids. So we sped to the hospital, getting there about 10:30am. I was already @ a 7 when we got there. I was in labor another 2 hrs & out she came! Beautiful, sweet, baby girl. We chose the name Alaina because it's similar to my name & to be quite frank, ever since I heard the name on the Mask of Zoro I've loved it. And her middle name Darla is Brian's momma's name, who passed away almost 2 yrs ago. And there you have it! A wonderful time for the Crosby family :)
